who’s in charge?
late at night i should be sleeping
over tired – over thought – over wrought
time to forget what i forgot
You say to me
“let go this worldly show
tilting values tapping toes
I’ll take your cares and woes
rest your head
I’m the One who knows”

plumb – lining
day by day an old cliche
can i strike a better deal
for one span in time
today is mine
as the sun shines
i’ll make hay
one brick upon another
the plumb line present
i do not wish
a hard day’s stubble
at the end of my life© 2016 by Priscilla Laudon – Used with permission
chop logic
the end is not yet
the last mile not walked
the last thought unthought
the last step not taken
the last word unspoken
the last deed undone
how do i know
i don’t

the pianist and the dream
a song of joy
unrehearsed
my mind catches the wind
flight takes its course
waterfalls
cascade their fortes
varied cadenzas
circle my brain
leaving me dizzy
with elation
and yet
the transformation
“mind to fingers”
would take some time
before the song was really mine!© 2016 by Priscilla Laudon – Used with permission
