Our May 5th meeting began half an hour earlier than usual with the reading and discussion of our reworked constitution and bylaws. We were thrilled to have in attendance our founder, Donna Bishop.
After discussion on some points, the document was passed. The Fraser Valley Poets Society now has an updated constitution and set of bylaws reflecting our new name and the changing times. Thanks so much to Alvin Ens who piloted us through the constitutional waters!
The casual evening continued with chatting, a refreshment break, a mic-less open mic and members choosing books from a collection given to the society from the estate of a former poetry teacher.
Our next meeting is another Open Mic, June 2nd. All poets are invited to join us (you don’t need to be a member). Bring three or four poems and be prepared to read. Sign up with Brayden when you arrive.
